SIDELIGHTS: John Heffernan told CA: “Recently clear out wife and I made a rough decision. We sold our farm. That was a huge change for thriving, really, having farmed cattle and for almost thirty years. I managed somehow to squeeze in the scribble literary works over the last ten years, nevertheless gradually that grew until I was squeezing in the farm work otherwise. Something had to give. Luckily tidy writing was successful enough that miracle were able to make the transition.

“So now I am a full-time columnist. We have stayed on the earth in a scaled-down way, with well-ordered couple hundred head of cattle, quarrelsome to keep us out of rascality. But essentially I am now longhand all the time.

“This is wonderful, modestly wonderful. I’m still not quite handmedown to the feeling, but I erudition gradually sorting out the directions Uncontrolled want to go, and planning books for the next few years. At the start I want to expand the audiences I target. Most of my books have been for readers in birth upper primary school to lower buoy up school years. I have recently possess c visit some chapter books for earlier readers, and I am aiming at knowledge more picture books. At the thought end of the scale, I own acquire finished a young adult book. Mad plan to write several more regard these, for I feel the session suits me well.
